Two rails on the wall. Raised, the legs fold away under the bed and the floor is completely clear. A bed, in the size you already buy mattresses in.
Start with a tape measure. Both beds stop far enough below the ceiling for you to sit up in them, so the ceiling decides how much room is left underneath: with the bed down, 3′ 11″ at a 7′ 10″ ceiling, 4′ 9″ at 8′ 10″. Try it on your ceiling
Then two questions. First: can a column stand in your floor space? Rising has four, and one or two of them stay out in the room depending on how it sits against the walls. Nuvola runs on two wall rails with legs that fold away when it rises, so by day the floor is completely clear.

A Murphy bed makes you clear the floor in front of it every single time. Nuvola doesn't: it travels straight up on two rails fixed to the wall and stops close to the ceiling, above whatever you already have.
Underneath goes a desk, a sofa, whatever the room needs — and it stays there, day and night. Nothing has to be moved out of the way.

The platform travels electrically on four solid-beech columns and stops at any height you set. Built to measure, it can be wider than the mattress — enough for nightstands alongside, or for a sleeping area rather than just a bed.
Two things set it apart from Nuvola. It stands on four columns, and depending on how it sits against the walls one or two of them stay out in your floor space — some people never notice, for others it decides the layout, and we show you exactly where they land before you order.
